WWSCC September Meeting Minutes 09/18/02 Overlake Round Table Pizza

 

Called to order: 7:33pm

 

Guests: Deiter Beldi, Keith Brown, Jerry Lamb, Tom LeCoque, Kimball Ayer, Tom Palidar

 

In attendance: UWFSAE-Brian C., TS-Karl C./Scott M., BEAC-Glen H., MCPS-Denise W., ACE-Susan. Bud Binyoun- PTC. No reps from NWDE, SCCA, or CSCC. Officers: VP/Acting Prez Susan, Secretary Kelley, Treasurer Jake, Treasurer-elect Karina, Insurance Focal Karen, Webmaster Alan.

 

Treasurer’s report: This was Jake’s last meeting as Treasurer and he submitted a report. Report accepted. Club Reps should contact Karina Miller for any future Treasurer information/needs. Her email isjasker@attbi.com. She has some ideas and suggestions for changes and will email the council list when ready to submit them. Jake gave Karl an invoice for SCCA’s half of the losses from the Coneheads 2002 Banquet.

 

Review of previous minutes: No changes to minutes. Accepted.

 

Old Business: Sports Car Spectacular: Official review of WWSCC event was at August meeting. WW Clubs had nothing to add at their meetings. Denise moved and Dieter seconded to accept as Championship event. Passed.

 

BEAC Enduro: 150 some people, must be a record for that site and for the Enduro event. People really appreciated Grid format. Karl moved and Jerry seconded to accept as a Championship event. Passed.

 

UWFSAE event in October. Brian C. – Made fixes to course as suggested. No new name yet (as of few weeks ago: “Late Summer Apex”). Everything else is pretty much all lined up. Scott Chytil will be assisting with timing/ scoring as did with SCS, generator and printer are lined up as well. Set-up will be on Saturday the 5th at 3:00pm. FSAE Club class will run in opposite half of the day as Street Tire class. It was mentioned that at Driver’s Meeting we need to emphasize that people not jump the fence between pit and course areas. Susan C. will be Rules Steward for Stock half of day, Keith B. will be Rules Steward for the Improved half. (thanks for volunteering!!)

 

ACE Dogfight: Susan C. - October 27th – still need Rules Stewards, still looking for a site – stay tuned. John Galfano is “official” event chair, Susan will be assisting him.

 

Trophy Committee: Karina – Karina & Brianne have had a “meeting” on the phone. On Monday the 23rd they will be meeting to go over some catalogs. Karl suggested giving Victory Awards first opportunity for trophy estimates. Other companies were suggested also, Karina to check into (“Complete” & “Eagle’s Nest”, etc.). Glen likes the idea of hats as trophies.

 

Treasurer Changes: Karina & Brianne meeting on the 23rd for transition of banking information, etc. Susan needs to have signing authority on WW checking account while Brianne is on maternity leave.

 

New Webmaster Volunteers: Karina and Brent P. met and have volunteered to be new Webmasters – Brent will perform technical aspects and Karina will handle site content. Alan was mentioning that it may be time for a new logo – do we hear a contest?? J Anyone interested in submitting new logo designs for judging should submit with camera ready artwork. Contest committee will be Karina, Kimball A, and Brent P.

 

NWSCN/SCCA anniversary advertisement: Glen is heading up the layout effort. Needs to have 8 weeks of lead time for the February issue. Karl will get contact info for new person handling content at NWSCN for Glen and Susan.

 

New Business: December Rules Meeting: Clubs need to poll and let their members know to make proposals for rules changes for 2003.

Possible New Sites: Pacific Tiger Club had an event at South Sound Speedway in Tenino. Bud brought pictures of Speedway to share. This site is about 80-90 miles south of Seattle. Scott M. is on the site committee for NWR/SCCA and has brokered a tentative agreement with the Port of Seattle for one of their “sites”. First inaugural event is this Sunday for SCCA #7 at Pier 25. Entrance is at Hanford and Marginal Way. The asphalt is old, but smooth & flat, not torn up.
