WWSCC Homepage Updated, Really! January 12, 2008 OK, so it's been a year since the last time but I went through and updated The info on this page for 2008. Hopefully soon we'll have a more automated way to do this and will have a few folks lined up to make updates, write event reports and new items. Stand by! WWSCC Slush Series Starts January 27th January 12, 2008 You wouldn't know it from the weather recently but our short autocross winter is about to end. The 9th annual WWSCC Slush Series is scheduled to begin on Sunday January 27th with UFSAE's "Dog Sled" Slush Series event #1 at Boeing Everett West. So far there are three events scheduled in the Slush Series with event #2 put on by Torque Steerers happening on February 10th at Bremerton Raceway and concludes with event #3, put on by ACE also at Bremerton Raceway on March 9th. So how is the Slush Series different than the Jim's Detail Shop Championship Series? Well first of all it's intended to be a less serious dust-the-cobwebs-off event for both car and driver. Not that there isn't scoring and trophies but each event is a stand-alone event and the trophies tend to be more creative than your standard plaque. The weather is also a crapshoot with beautiful crisp sunshine if we're lucky or pouring rain if we're not. So far in the 8 seasons the Slush Series has ran we've yet to see any actual slush (though we did see some snow at the set-up for last year's Slush #2), but after everything we've seen weather-wise this year you can't count that out either! No matter what the conditions will be expect fun times, good competition and good camaraderie so come out and join the fun! |
Coneheads Banquet is January 19th January 12, 2008 The annual WWSCC - NWR/SCCA "Coneheads" awards banquet has been set for January 19th. For the 4th year in a row it will be held in the popular F.X. McRory's restaurant's "Whiskey Bar" in Seattle's Pioneer Square. We'll have the place to ourselves and yes it's open to all ages. What is the Coneheads Banquet? Well it is the awards banquet for both the WWSCC Jim's Detail Shop Championship Series and the NWR/SCCA Fordahl Motorsports Regional Series but it's much more than that, it's a chance to get together with friends after our winter break with no racing and see them dressed up no less! Not to mention the incredible food at F.X. McRory's, the raffle and did I mention the food? Come on this one's not to be missed and at only $30/person it's a bargain. See you all there! Check out the Info Page for more details on the banquet. Article Archive Created January 6, 2007 As long-time viewers of this website may have noticed articles have tended to stay on the main page for quite a while, sometimes for years. This isn't just do to lazyness on the part of your humble webmaster (although that is certainly a factor) but also because sometimes there are articles that because of their historical interest, well-written prose or both deserve to be kept and not discarded. To save this "classic" articles I've created an article archive. This archive preserves Craig Anderson's classic "Fourty Years of Going Around in Circles" history of the early days of autocrossing in the Northwest along with the eulogy for the WWSCC Hotline and whatever other articles in the future that are worth keeping. This is also a good time to mention that we are always looking for writers willing to write event reports, funny autocross stories, histories or whatever else you think might be of interest. Just think you too could be immortalized on the WWSCC front page! No, no don't look around I'm talking to you not the person behind you! Send me whatever you want, short or long and who knows you too could end up in the archive! |
