October Minutes: Steve moved to approve, Michael seconded, passed

Treasurer Report: presented by Karina and reviewed.

Old Business:

Absence of NWDE Club Representation: Club rep is here, club is doing okay, just been busy, per Tim Nevins.

Trophy Committee: Karina brought sample jackets to show us for trophies. Red fleece w/black nylon shoulders for first. Cotton duck mechanics like jacket for second (per show of hands vote). Black and red fleece pullover for third through fifth, etc. Total costs with embroidery and taxes are still well within trophy budget. Brianne is going to contact Victory Awards about creating a new Del Hines Sportsmanship perpetual plaque with mini-plaques that go to each winner. It would just be the nice thing to do for people who have earned it in years past. Key Chains for “perfect attendance” for people who have gone to all 9 events this year. Brianne and Karina to do more research about key-rings and bring a proposal to council in December. Brianne posted to the autocross list today for annual award nominees in the categories of “Rookie of the Year”, “Worker of the Year”, “Hard-luck Award”, and the “Del Hines Sportsmanship Award”. Nominations should be submitted by December 1st.

New WWSCC Logo Competition: Karina presented competition outlines. Suggested that as a prize we offer WWSCC to pay winner’s entry for 5 events. This would be transferable to another competitor but needs to be used during the 2003 season. Glen proposed 5 free entries for winning logo graphic and 1 free entry for winning tagline to be used in 2003 season. Tim seconded. None opposed, passed.

WWSCC Business Cards: Glen presented several examples of business cards for the council. We should probably wait until after the logo and tagline contest. Can be black & white or color. Would be laser printed for our Seattle weather.

NWSCN SCCA Anniversary Advertisement: Glen heard back on the 21st of October and the editor was supposed to get back to him about the location and size of advertisement and the price. Price and due date have not been discussed. Glen emailed over the weekend and cc’d Ron & Karl (SCCA) to find out what is currently going on. He showed a proposed advertisement layout plan with everyone’s logos, looks good. Ron suggested trying to get a hold of editor by phone, her number’s on the website…Glen to check.

December Rules Meeting: Per Susan, December 17th at Factoria in small community room. See Susan’s posting to the list regarding how to write rules proposals.

Coneheads Banquet: Tentatively scheduled for February 1st at River Rock/Maplewood Golf Course. Susan has been in contact with SCCA about it too.

Slush Events: ACE has a tentatively scheduled event for January 26th. SCCA members who are not members of other WWSCC clubs need to have their SCCA card with them; any other club members need to have their names on their club’s roster. Might possibly be at Bremerton Motorsports Park. Slush will still be standalone events like last year. UWFSAE would also like to do a Slush event at Bremerton, or possibly at Husky stadium. Steve mentioned CSCC is still discussing whether they will host a Slush event this season.

Hotline Updating: Kelley spoke with Bret about timeliness of hotline updating for events next season due to council clubs’ concerns from this season. Bret still very much wants to participate in his current hotline capacity, and methods, timelines,

etc. were also discussed for future updating. At meeting, it was discussed that we should still have a back-up in case Bret is unavailable. Brianne offered to be the back-up for the hotline. Kelley and Bret will discuss some type of web-form with Brent for the hotline update and we will see how it goes through the Slush event season.

Web Update: Brent has changed contact info on the WWSCC website and updated the dates and locations of near future meetings. Brent & Karina are going to work on website this winter to change the look and feel and usability. Glen suggested that the event info page should be very easy to fix if there are errors. Brent informed that he will program website in the same sort of framework format as the TS website.

ACE Dogfight Recap: Brianne read from Susan’s notes that fun runs were not offered so the new BEAC van could be packed up in the daylight and dry weather. Karen said it was packed up very close to her directions! Denise said there was an “incident of unsportsmanlike conduct” where someone refused to attend the Driver’s Meeting. Since there isn’t anything in the rulebook about mandatory attendance at Driver’s Meetings, no disciplinary action was enforceable. Something that might be changed at the December Rules Meeting…. Ron let us know that Cheney Stadium was happy to have us there. For future reference, technically when the Stadium is rented they are only renting us where we run, not the pit lots. Moved to accept as a championship event by Tim, seconded by ___________, passed.

New Business:

2003 Officers: Brianne is not going to run for re-election and Susan is going to run for President, so definitely an opening for Vice President in 2003. Reps should discuss with their clubs.

Meeting Location in December: At Rogue in Issaquah again.

BEAC Properties: Glen reported that BEAC is open to using their access to Boeing properties for Slush events. Any clubs interested need to present an event plan and any requests to rent BEAC equipment at the December 11th meeting at the Oxbow Recreation Center at 6:00pm. BEAC will not be having a January meeting, so December is the deadline for any events in January and early February on Boeing properties.

Bremerton Motorsports Park: Ron informed us that BMP should have a website listing available site rental dates by the 11/26/02.

Adjourn: 8:51pm
