Western Washington Sports Car Council Meeting

July 16, 2007

Attendance:

Review of June Meeting minutes, Motion to approve minutes by Ann, second by Dieter. Minutes approved.

Treasurer’s report

Kelley emailed a short report. Currently have about $3100, the only transactions were officer meals, and ad revenue for the rulebook. Invoices will be sent in the next few days, please have your treasurer’s pay these asap.

Old Business:

BEAC Autopilot Event Review Majority of discussion was held at the June meeting. Approved as championship event

Understeer/Oversteer Event review. Discussion at the last meeting. Approved as championship event.

NWDE 2007 event. SCCA and WWSCC were asked by OR-SCCA to help keep them viable at their Packwood events. To be clear the event was not cancelled by the council, NWDE chose to cancel their event due to commitment from the club itself. They want to produce a quality event. They are going to try to recruit new members, they are currently only at 12 paid members. Much discussion followed.

Sanction Fees – Results of club voting. Approved. Rulebook language needs to be sent to Karen.

New Business:

Ladies Practice Aug 4^th, Registration open to ladies only. Men are invited to work course to allow the ladies to focus on driving. Using the Maitacross course in reverse. Need BEAC focal, and several chiefs.

Miatacross Event Plan Aug 5^th. Event Plan Presented, could use an Event steward or two. Lenient passenger Rule

BEAC Enduro Event Plan Aug 12^th or July 29^th Event Plan Presented. Restrictive Passenger rule, entry cap of 150. Aug 12^th conflicts with BSCC, July 29^th conflicts with OR-SCCA. Lots of discussion about moving the date at the last minute. Lots of discussion about overlap with a Council club or OR-SCCA. Motion to change the date to August 11^th if approved of BEAC council, if not then July 29^th. BEAC, NWDE, CSCC, PSMC, BSCC in favor. Motion passes. Discussion of “No Time Only entrants” in the morning.

Items for future meetings:

Event scheduling priorities should be formalized in a meeting after the season ends.

WWSCC never billed BEAC for Cones.

Watch for children in Grid

Think of ways to prohibit tippy vehicles from autocrossing, we need better wording in the rulebook.
