WWSCC Meeting Minutes

February 20, 2006

Rogue Brewery, Issaquah, WA

Attendance: Ed Dahl - CSCC, John Henderschedt - Secretary, Annie Bauer, Keith Brown - SCCA, Ron Bauer – Vice President, Glenn Austin, Amy Olson - TS, Travis Garrison - UWFSAE, Denny Trimble, Jerry Lamb, Fast Mike, Kevin Dietz - BSCC, Rob Caplan - ACE, Dieter Beldi – PSMC, Enrique Garcia – BEAC, Ann Wilson – NWDE, Jim Wilson, Karen Babb

Approval of January Minutes – The minutes were approved as amended without opposition.

Treasurer’s Report – Kelley Picasso was not present but she provided a summary treasurer’s report to Ron Bauer by phone. We ended up $900 over budget on the trophies, but a lot of this was the result of “catching up” on the Del Hines awards – the purchase of a new plaque and permanent trophies for past recipients. We were, however, under budget on the Coneheads banquet event. WWSCC has about $7,100 in the bank.

Old Business –

Equipment Review –

Coneheads Banquet – Ninety-six individuals paid for the Coneheads dinner. Ninety-four individuals showed up and two people forgot. There was no information available regarding the raffle proceeds. There were a few comments regarding how the raffle was organized. WWSCC used very little of the Coneheads practice money to offset the cost of the banquet – only about $700. This was mostly a factor of the number of people that attended. The trophy presentation went really well. Big thanks were conveyed to Keith and Kristi Brown for organizing the event, and to Dieter for arranging the trophies.

Slush Events –

UWFSAE – There were 147 entrants and everybody got 4 runs. UWFSAE got lots of help from rules stewards and co-chiefs. There were a few issues with timing equipment and that’s being worked out with BEAC. The event was a good fundraiser for UWFSAE.

TS – There were 120 entrants. The event enjoyed good weather but there were complications with timing. They started the day using TS’s Accucross, but there were some timing malfunctions. This was apparently a problem with the serial port on the computer. They borrowed ACE equipment, but there was a problem with the wire for that. Jim Daniels saved the day by lending his laptop and with that, Accucross worked great. Several people were turned away per the “members only” rule. There were free fun runs at the end of the day. The course was very “green”.

ACE – The ACE event is coming up this weekend. WWSCC reviewed the event plan last month. Everything is in place. They are still looking for an event steward for the afternoon.

CSCC – Ed Dahl presented an event plan (attached), but has not yet heard back from BEAC.

NWDE is targeting this event to introduce its members that are new to autocrossing, and will have 6-12 club cars.

New Business –

2006 Calendar –

UWFSAE – May 14

PSMC – July 30

BEAC – May 21 and August 20 or 27

NWDE – August 27

TS – Looking for an open date for US/OS

CSCC – Mere Mortals in September – September 24th?

BEAC would really appreciate if everybody could get their dates to Glen ASAP so that they can make one comprehensive request to Boeing Facilities. Also, BEAC will not accept an event plan for Everett without Event Stewards listed on the plan.

We need a date for Sports Car Spectacular. The Coneheads Banquet fundraiser (if we do one) should be the preceding Saturday. For now we will pencil in July 15 and 16.

Evolution Schools – The Evolution School will be held between the Pro and the Tour in Packwood – August 8 through 10. They will be offering Phases 1 and 2. There have been no decisions regarding additional classes. Evolution has developed a new Phase 1 involving a new course, more students, and more instructors.

Annual Tech – There is no word back yet from the insurers. We should determine what it would take to modify this rule. The insurance company is looking for our premium. We will be starting out at last year’s rates.

Kevin Dietz gave notice that he does not intend to sponsor the 2006 WWSCC Championship Series or serve as the BSCC WWSCC Representative.

IRDC is having a road racing driving school on March 11. The track will be available to road race graduates during the lapping times.

Next Meeting Location – Rogue Brewery, Issaquah if available

Adjourn – Enrique moved to adjourn. Jerry seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

John Henderschedt

Secretary
