WWSCC Meeting Minutes

December 18, 2006

Rogue Brewery, Issaquah, WA

 

Attendance – Karl Coleman-President, Amy Olson-TS and BSCC, Dieter Beldi-ACE and PSMC, Kris Dahl, Steven Yao-UWFSAE, Enrique Garcia-BEAC, Keith Brown, John Henderschedt- Secretary

 

Approval of November Minutes – Keith moved to approve the minutes as amended. Amy provided a second. The motion passed without opposition.

 

Treasurer’s Report – There was no treasurer’s report provided.

 

Old Business –

 

Website Issues- PLEASE PUT STEVEN YAO ON THE COUNCIL LIST!

 

Trophies- Things are on track for getting the trophies done. There was a question regarding the number of little blinking cones to order. The minimum order is 125, but the price per cone is lower with a 250 cone order. The group suggested that a 150 cone order is more reasonable – 250 may likely be too many.

 

“The Absorber” was suggested as a good perfect attendance award.

 

New Business –

 

2007 Rule Proposals - Most of the proposals were administrative in nature, including some terminology clarifications. There is a run duration proposal and there are some car classification proposals. BEAC asked that the Council reps vote on the proposals in February, and there was some discussion regarding the reps’ ability to modify wording of the proposal as part of the voting process. There was some concern that this may create “issues” with each of the proposals. It was pointed out that the purpose of the rules meeting is to “wordsmith” the proposals. It was agreed that the Council would address any issues with the wording of proposals at the January meeting and take final action on the proposals at the February meeting.

 

2007 Rule Books – Rule books will be a part of driver registration in 2007. Drivers will pay a one time registration fee of $5.00 at their first ’07 series event and will receive a rulebook at that time. Proof of registration will be in the form of the season standings list (including TO entries).

 

Tentative 2007 Slush Series Schedule –

 

            Slush #1 - January 28 – UWFSAE – Steven Yao presented an event plan.

            Slush #2 - February 4 – TS at Bremerton

            Slush #3 - February 25 – ACE at Bremerton

 

Coneheads – The Coneheads Banquet is scheduled for February 10, 2007. There was discussion of nominations for Worker of the Year and Rookie of the Year. There was also a question regarding the determination of the Del Hines Sportsmanship Award – is this done by the Council board or by past Del Hines winners?

 

WWSCC Stuff in BEAC Shed – There are four file boxes of WWSCC records in the BEAC shed in Kent. Dieter will stop by and pick them up.
