Approval of March Minutes – Keith moved to approve the March minutes. Ron seconded the motion. The minutes were approved as amended without opposition.
Treasurer’s Report – Kelley Picasso provided the Treasurer’s Report (attached). WWSCC has about $4,600 in its checking account not counting the amount of the un-cashed check to JAC. The large number of accounts receivable is due to the fact that Kelley just invoiced the clubs for the 2006 Slush Series and 2006 membership dues. There is a $45 receivable from SCCA that is past due, but Kelley is reviewing recent deposits to determine whether it was included in another payment.
Old Business –
Equipment Review –
CSCC Event – Since there were CSCC representatives present, WWSCC continued its review of the CSCC event. The following topics were discussed:
2006 Series Sponsor – Kelly has not yet heard back from Kevin regarding the Jim’s Detail sponsorship. Kelley will follow-up.
New Business
2006 Rulebooks – They will cost $1.60 / ea. to print at Costco. It would cost more than twice that amount to have it done by a print shop. Karen will have 400-500 made in time for the first event.
Cones – BEAC proposed that it pay one third of the cost of the new cones (100-200 cones) and WWSCC pay two thirds. Ron moved to accept the offer and buy the cones. Dieter seconded the motion, which passed without objection. Karl will submit the receipt for the cones to Kelly, who will then invoice BEAC for their third of the cost.
WWSCC will attempt to find another club that could make use of the discarded cones.
UWFSAE and BEAC presented their event plans.
The 2006 calendar is confirmed.
Emerald Downs – There have been discussions with the management at Emerald Downs about use of the parking lot. Autocrosses have been held there before. The price quotes is in the $2,000 to $3,000 range, depending on the requirement of advance commitment by the facility. They will not confirm dates more than 30 days in advance. Karl offered $1,000 per day. Emerald Downs countered with an offer of $2,500 per day or $3,000 for the weekend. There was discussion that this would be a popular change of pace and would result in a large event turnout. Entry fees could be adjusted to pay for the site fee.
CSCC Anniversary – 2006 is CSCC’s 50th anniversary. They are having a summer event on August 26-27 that will include an autocross, a TSD rally, a car show, and a BBQ. The event will be held north of Ferndale.
EVO School – The school is scheduled for August 8-10 at Packwood. Phase 1 and Teen Driver Clinic will be on Tuesday. Phase 1 or Phase 2 will be on Wednesday, and Phase 2 and the Challenge School will be on Thursday. The Teen Dirver Clinic is geared for young drivers and focuses on accident avoidance. For drivers younger than 18, a parent must be must be on the site. The Challenge School is more or less a race against the instructor.
