Approval of August Minutes – Dieter moved to accept the August minutes as amended. Denny seconded the motion. The motion passed without opposition.

Treasurer’s Report – Kelley Picasso provided a Treasurer’s report. The printed report is attached. UWFSAE did a great job paying down their outstanding balance. Going into the final part of the season WWSCC is in very good financial shape.

Kelley brought the transmitter back as she just doesn’t have the time to build it. Glenn Austin has volunteered to assemble the transmitter.

Old Business –

PSMC Miatacross – ACE, TS, CSCC also approved the event. In addition to earlier approval by SCCA, BEAC, and PSMC, there are enough votes to approve.

Sports Car Spectacular – UWFSAE, ACE, TS, CSCC also approved the event. In addition to earlier approval by SCCA, BEAC, and PSMC, there are enough votes to approve.

BEAC Enduro –

There was a relatively low turnout – about 120 people. There were no big problems. The event moved more quickly than ever before. The course was longer than the designer anticipated. ACE really liked the use of the flag – it was a nice addition to the old sign. The rules stewards should have been designated earlier. This will be brought up under new business.

ACE, PSMC approved the event. Final event approval will be taken up again at the October meeting.

CSCC Mere Mortals – Seventy-nine people turned out. The course was tight but fun. Everybody got six runs. There were many who registered on-site, so it took more time entering names into the computer. It was a good instructional course. Plus, they had a chance to train some new folks in the timing van. There wasn’t an announcer, so some people didn’t realize that they hit cones.

Practice to supplement budget for banquet – There was discussion about doing it at Everett, but no date has been set. Dogfight is the first week in October – the preceding Saturday is October 1. Enrique does not recall that there is a BEAC practice scheduled for the Saturday, but the lot should be reserved. The BEAC board would need an event plan fairly soon. Keith and Kristi Brown have offered to chair the practice event. We would rent the BEAC gear for the day. Enrique can be the chief of course and set up a BEAC practice course. The practice will need to be over by 4:30-5:00 so that Sunday’s course can be set up. Karl and Amy will be chiefs of timing. Dieter will be chief of tech. Jerry will be a steward for afternoon. We’ll hit the list for the remaining chiefs. There won’t be online registration for the practice.

Dieter raised a question regarding the ability of drivers with a learners permit to participate. We’ll have to check with Karen.

New Business

ACE Dogfight – Dieter Beldi presented the event plan (attached). BEAC officers need a map of the proposed course. Dieter will fax it to Glen. Keith will be rules steward in the a.m. and we’ll go to the list for the p.m. steward.

Enrique - Boeing is having a problem with people driving the course the night before an event. BEAC suggests that the cones be taken down and grouped together after course set-up and then put back in place the next morning.

Alan – WWSCC has, in the past, put together an ad hoc classing committee to make sure that late model cars are included in the rulebook. The purpose is not that classing be moved around, but rather just to make sure that cars that have come out in the last 5 years are included. Alan will take a try at the stock cars, but we need somebody to look at the prepared cars as well.

The rules meeting is the first week in December. Nomination of officers is in October, and elections will be held in November.

Rules Stewards – Rules stewards have not been identified prior to the day of event. The rules should be clarified to determine who is responsible to appoint the rules stewards. Alan suggests that the rules steward should be identified in the event plan. Jerry suggests that rules stewards work half of their own half of the day. Can we establish a “pool” of rules stewards? Anyone with an understanding of the rule book can be the rules steward. An approved list may be a good idea. Karl reiterated that the most important point is that we clarify who is responsible to appoint the stewards. Enrique will bring up these ideas at the next BEAC meeting.

Motion to adjourn – Keith made the motion. Enrique seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.

Next Meeting – Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Red House.

Respectfully submitted,

John Henderschedt

Secretary
