Old Business

2005 Calendar update –
Coneheads-
Ace commented that they thought the outgoing president should have received a complimentary dinner. There were, as well, some issues with the layout of the room and with the food. In the future, ACE would like to have the ability to review alternatives. There was a discussion regarding the sequence by which the room was chosen and reserved and the timing by which those decisions needed to me made. Also, it was clarified that there was no mention to the organizers regarding a complementary dinner for the outgoing president.
New Business
There was a brief discussion regarding what counts as a championship event. Practice and/or slush single championship events do not count as a championship event that is required for a second vote on WWSCC.
Slush Review
UW – Approved.
TS – Approved.
ACE - Dieter provided and event report. The event went OK, but needed a trophy chief. The Sportscar Spectacular trophies (medallions) were handed out as trophies for the event to some who ran in the morning group. ACE managed to get them back for use in the Sports Car Spectacular. Keith commented that the course had good flow to it except middle section was too tight. There were a few comments that Karl needs to be in charge of the “Dude, what’s my class?” three-ring binder. Russ Hill has the blue box. The membership approved the event.
CSCC – There were 144 entries. The weather was cold and windy. There were some timing issues. They started the day with their own equipment and the wind was causing the lights to move. They switched to the BEAC system and still had problems. The cause turned out to be a short in the PA preamp. Everybody got three runs. The first run group took a long time – if that had gone more smoothly there may have been time for more runs. There were a lot of novices on course as flag workers – one guy was a little slow and a driver had to stop. Ed was concerned about the novices and went from station to station to make sure that everybody was properly positioned throughout the course. About half of the entries were novices. The event was full for pre-registration on the Tuesday before the event. CSCC did a good job with a small group of people. The course was tight, but not as bad as the “M” last season. There was a small problem with run group assignments - open and womens’ classes were put in the same group. Things still worked out in the end.
WWSCC Event #1 – See attached
Coneheads Subsidy - Keith Brown pointed out that one of the issues for the Coneheads banquet was the price - $35. Keith proposed that WWSCC have a practice to subsidize the cost of the Coneheads banquet. SCCA is doing some two-day events in Packwood, perhaps one of those could go to the banquet as well. For instance, one WWSCC and one SCCA practice event could go to subsidize the Coneheads banquet. Perhaps the sponsors could use enough money from these practices to subsidize the cost of the banquet down to $20 per person, and the remainder of the proceeds would go to SCCA and WWSCC. Keith suggested the Saturday before Sports Car Spectacular. SCCA probably won’t want to commit to a date until June.
Adjourn – Jerry moved to adjourn and Enrique provided a second.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
Good of the Order
