Minutes- Changes – FM Transmitter – The ball is in BEAC’s court regarding whether BEAC will allow storage without liability. Same with display. Motion to approve –Jerry, Keith second.
Treasurer’s Report- No changes to the treasury other than meals paid for officers at December meeting.
Old Business
2005 Rules Proposals- Last meeting we attempted to approve the rules that had enough votes to approve, even though some of the clubs hadn’t yet discussed. It turns out that 2/3 of all available votes are required to approve rules changes.
Posting Sheets Entry and Completion – SCCA voted no. CSCC voted no. BEAC voted yes. With these votes, the rule amendment proposal fails. 8 against, 4 in favor, remaining abstentions. It appears that the biggest concern related to the time requirement for posting.
Passenger Rule – SCCA didn’t vote. This passed unanimously at the last meeting so this passes under the 2/3 requirement.
Reclassification Proposals - This passed unanimously at the last meeting so this passes under the 2/3 requirement.
Equipment Report-
FM Transmitter – BEAC hasn’t met, so there is no word regarding possible storage in BEAC vehicle.
Timer Display – Also waiting for word from BEAC regarding storage. The display requires more attention and will have to be brought to each event for the morning run groups.
Helmet Stickers – Any club can choose to override any annual tech or helmet stickers. Stickering helmets early in the season can save time during the tech inspections. SCCA is a member club of WWSCC, and the stickers are issued on an “official” basis, so there is legitimate control of how helmets are stickered. SCCA has new helmet certifications (FIA and Rally) that are not Snell ratings, so K&K may not approve of approving those helmets. Comes down to the question of whether K&K will honor the new SCCA approvals.
Generator – Starkovich still has the 1000 watt generator. Enrique will pick it up this week. Enrique will inquire as to the problems that Jim diagnosed.
Coneheads – So far there are 19 entries. Lots of people are waiting to register. Keith will need assistance from some AV experts. Powerpoint will be a problem unless we bring our own screen. Keith and Karl will have lunch this week and check it out.
2004 Season Trophies – Dieter met with the supplier on Friday. We’re on schedule and within the budget. SCCA is done with season trophies.
Slush events –
Jan 30 is first, then 2/13, then 2/27 (Awfully Cold Event), 3/13
UWFSAE – Still need rules stewards. Enrique will do rules in the morning. Stock runs in the morning. Enrique will be the a.m.Steward, Alan will be the p.m. Steward. Annie is the BEAC focal. Looking for co-chiefs. Denny is coordinating the porta-potty service for the events this year.
Event plan for TS Slush Event – Hans Adomeit presented the event plan. Alan has a “draft” course map for Bremerton. Registration and tech start at 7:30 a.m. Afternoon registration and tech 11-12. It is a members-only event, so TS needs to know how club members shall be identified. TS has its own timing equipment. Karl’s Suburban is the timing van. Non-stock is in the morning. TS has its own generator and PA system. Need rules stewards. Ron will do a.m. Enrique or Dieter will do p.m. Slush uses 2004 event.
ACE – Awfully Cold Event. Prereg only. WWSCC members only. Michael Van Loon is the chairman. ACE will use the BEAC equipment. Will present a map at the next meeting.
CSCC – Mere Mortals Redux – Event at Everett pending approval. Looking for Rules Stewards. Using their own equipment. Prereg and members only. They may want to make it open because there is a CA event on the same weekend.
2005 Calendar
ACE wants middle of the summer, August 7 is Miatacross, CSCC plans to do Mere Mortals this year in September as a practice for WWSCC, points for CSCC. TS will have US/OS in June, BEAC will do Enduro and Autopilot, UW will have an event on April 18. We don’t know about NWDE. CSCC waiting to see how the schedule materialized – maybe May. Sportscar Spectacular as well.
New Business-
NOTY & WOTY – Those elections have all been done by the WWSCC officers.
BSCC Awards dinner is on Feb. 12 at Tony’s in Bremerton.
BMW Club – Interested in doing an autocross. At BMP, porta-potties are included in rental. BSCC may rent their equipment. May want to consider getting some of the experienced autocrossers to work as chiefs. This would certainly help tackle the learning curve.
Next Meeting Date – February 21, 2005
Adjourn – Motion by Jerry and seconded by Keith.
