WWSCC Meeting Minutes 02/17/2004 Issaquah Rogue Brewery

Called to Order:7:43PM

Attendance:UW-Denny, SCCA-Jerry, TS-Keith, PSMC-Denise, BEAC rep & VP-Enrique, Treasurer-Kelley, ACE-Ron, NWDE-Chris, CSCC-Ed Dahl

Guests:Mattia, Errin, CSCC guy, and another guy whose name I didn’t catch.

January Minutes:Keith moved to approve, Jerry seconded.

Treasurer’s Report:Presented reports for January and February tonight. Biggest expenditures were Coneheads Banquet and trophy related items. We spent $2169.98 on season trophies and $151.77 on Special Awards trophies. The trophies were over-budget by $224.62, mostly due to increased freight charges for somewhat rushed order. We’ll try to do better next year. J Clubs have been invoiced for their share of the 2003 Honey Buckets. Discussion on keeping Honey Buckets for entire 2004 season at Everett West. Denise moved to keep them and bill clubs according to usage, Keith seconded, passed. Clubs reminded that membership dues of $30.00 are due this month. K&K should be giving us the new insurance rates soon for events and for per-member insurance fees.

Old Business:Technology Report - Enrique:Still looking into possible purchases for laptop for Secretary and also maybe acquiring wireless network cards for use at events as a remote display. A new portable laser printer or faster ink jet printer would also be helpful for our events to run smoother. Jerry mentioned the work that Joe Goeke is doing for SCCA for remote timing & display with Autocross Scorekeeper. Brett Wilson, our current scoring and database focal is working on a remote system for WW. It is agreed that we should check a few more sites and retailers for laptop and printer prices before we pass a budget for purchasing. For printers we’re looking for something faster and still portable. A laser would be nice, but the generator needs to be powerful enough to power it.

Equipment Update - Enrique:nothing new to report at this time.

Coneheads Banquet Recap:Really cool, food was great, location worked. Food was way better than at River Rock. Suggestions for next year: maybe check out the Museum of Flight, which is catered through McCormick & Schmicks. More variety in dance music in future…some old school etc. Thanks to Coneheads committee!

K&K Drift Letter from WWSCC:Letter was sent, (copies presented tonight) looks like it will be a go. BEAC & NWDE still had not voted on allowing drift practices to be added to K&K policy, but basically gave it a thumbs up, with a few reservations.

BSCC Invitation to Join WWSCC:Discussion last month to invite BSCC to join the Council. They are in need of core workers big-time. Kevin Dietz is now a BSCC Board Member and Karl Coleman and Scott Miller are new BSCC members too. Not enough members currently to hold the chief positions at an event. It is a win-win situation for all of us since BSCC is the #2 stakeholder for Bremerton Motorsports Park dates. Should find out soon if BSCC is going to join the Council.

New Business:WWSCC Secretary Volunteer:John Henderschedt would like to volunteer to be Secretary. Jerry moved to waive the minimum meeting attendance requirement in the bylaws, Ron seconded, approved. Jerry moved to nominate John as Secretary, Keith seconded, approved. Reps to take back to clubs for final approval.

Slush #3 - UWFSAE - Denny:Event plan presented with course map. 170 max entrants. Using WW PayPal account. Going to have $20.00 rent-a-student course workers available. Stock in Am, Non-Stock in PM, Rules Stewards: Jerry volunteers for PM, Enrique for AM (free entry). Jerry will cover Enrique during his runs, and Enrique will cover Jerry for Jerry’s TOPM runs.

February 2004 WWSCC Minutes cont’d:

Championship Series Event Schedule: UWFSAE, ACE, & PSMC have already requested their dates from BEAC: UWFSAE: 4/18/2004, Miatacross: 8/8/2004, ACE Dogfight: 10/03/2004. The following are some more dates, but haven’t been confirmed yet: TS Understeer/Oversteer: 7/10&11/2004, BEAC Autopilot 6/13/04. If we have a NWDE event, and Enduro, and Sports Car Spectacular, that will be a nine event series. CSCC is considering hosting a WW champ event at Mt. Baker, which would make it a ten event series, allowing participants to drop three events for a best 7 of 10. CSCC still needs to discuss, but maybe have their event on 6/20/2004 (Father’s Day) at Mt. Baker. Reps were informed to expect about 100+ people if they have a champ event. CSCC is hosting a practice on 3/21/2004.

Next Meeting:Since people may still be on their way back from the ProSolo, voted to move meeting to Tuesday, 03/16/2004 here at Rogue.

Adjourn:Jerry moved to adjourn, Keith seconded, passed 8:45PM
