August Minutes: Karina and Kelley will collaborate on making changes to online minutes
per changes at following meetings. August minutes accepted.
Treasurer's
Report: For August, changed DDay transactions to not say charitable donation. $356.18 of PayPal and Checks made out by WWSCC payable
to Denny's family. All event insurance paid for remainder
of year w/exception of UWFSAE practice, which is paid tonight. In August WWSCC was reimbursed for Chuckanut insurance
for two events. WWSCC owes BEAC for Enduro refund
of what was collected via PayPal vs. sanction fees, etc.
OLD Business: Technology/Website
Update - Karina: Mitch has been very busy lately and will hope to have time to work on it soon. Brent has found this open source framework called Drupal
on which to build the website. He's going to test
it on the TS website and will see how it works out.
Equipment - Karen: We have the generator
from SCCA and it's been repaired. Dieter has put a
handtruck in the van but hasn't tested if it's heavy duty enough to move
the curbing. Discussion of where to store the WWSCC
generator, Boeing will store it in the truck as long as WWSCC realizes it
is not an entirely secure place. At the end of the
season, Karen will store for a few weeks, then Susan will store since we
won't be needing the generator until probably Slush.
WWSCC #7 - Official discussion and vote: Loved the course, nothing else that wasn't
already covered at August meeting. Championship status passes.
Enduro #8 - Official discussion and vote: Loved the course. A
few first time novices, only one person who had a lot of difficulty who had
Karen ride along on a few of the laps and ended up doing better. 110 entrants, even had time for fun runs. Keith said some people had trouble discerning where the
timing lights were, which was weird. Championship status passes.
NEW Business: UWFSAE Practice
on 10/04 - Denny: Planning is
going well, need Rules Stewards. Susan and Deiter
volunteer to be RS's. Course designer is Sean Green. Very loosely organized, just show up and run.
ACE Dogfight
Event #9 - Brianne: All chiefs
are in place, sent info to Kelley for pre-reg. $20
pre-reg/$25 reg onsite. Still need stewards. Event may or may not happen at Everett West, there is a
meeting between BEAC and Boeing Properties at the end of the month. Jerry volunteered to be PM Rules Steward, Kelley volunteers
to be AM Rules Steward. Only 2 run/work groups per half of day. Using WWSCC PayPal.
Coneheads - Susan: Just want to get this
on everyone's radar. Susan, Karina, & Kelley have
been discussing and evaluating sites. Keith says there's
a place called the "Zenith Club" near 240th and Pacific Hiway. Seats about 150 people. He'll find
out some contact info and get back to us. Karina and
Susan have worked out a survey for the list to find out what NWAutoxers think
and want for a banquet. She's using an online tool
called Survey Monkey for only $20.00, money well spent. Also
looking at the Mountaineer's Club near Mercer/base of Queen Anne. We have dates reserved at Mountaineer's and at Maplewood
Greens. Unfortunately, Maplewood still keeps raising
the prices and tacking on these other fees, even $50.00 per hour for a bartender. We would be using the Summit room if we go there.
Slush
- Susan: Only four months away,
just to get it on your radar. Boeing Properties will
have a new site-use policy after the meeting at the end of September. Would clubs like to go it alone for sites, or work with
the Council for sites for Slush? Cheney will probably
be available at $700 a day in the winter. Bremerton
will probably be available at $500 a day. Shelton
Airport may end up being a possibility too.
