Torque Steerers managed to not only snag a terrific weather day on Sunday, but to attract 135 entrants to its Giddyup! event at Emerald Downs in Auburn.  Top Time of Day, and Pro1 class win, went to Kevin Dietz in the S2000; Bob Bundy was just .012 behind in the super fast Miata. Very few people had all four runs clean; Joey Sim and Stacey Molleker were two notables who accomplished the feat.

Full results are available here: http://www.wwscc.org/event_results/2015/wwscc-01.html

Next WWSCC Event is the UWFSAE Dawg Dash, April 11th at Shelton.

The 2015 WWSCC Championship Series kicks off Sunday, March 8th, with Torque Steerers hosting Event #1 "Giddyup!" at Emerald Downs in Auburn, WA.  Stock classes and  Pro1 run in the morning while Non-Stock and Pro2 run in the afternoon.  Novice and Time Only classes will be run both halves of the day in the usual manner.  The "out the door" price is $40 for pre-registered entries and $45 for registration on-site (including a $30/$35 entry fee, $5 TS weekend membership, and $5 WWSCC yearly driver registration fee).  Second entries, if allowed, will be an additional $30.  Morning registration opens at 7:30; afternoon opens at 11:30.  The tentative Run/Work order is:

Morning Session:

Run 1/Work 2: SS, WSA, SB, WSC, WSD, SE,  PRO1, TOAM, WNOVAM, NOVAM

Run 2/Work 1: WSS, SA, WSB, SC, SD, WSE, WPRO1, TOAM, NOVAM, WNOVAM

Afternoon Session:

Run 1/Work 2: IA, IB, IC, WM, WP, OS, ST2, WST3, ST4, PRO2, TOPM

Run 2/Work 1: WIA, WIB, WIC, MA, MB, PA, PB, PC, WOS, WST2, ST3, WST4, WPRO2, TOPM, WNOVPM, NOVPM

As you might expect, the location is close to the race horse stables at the Emerald Downs track. The horses do not respond well to loud noises, especially excessive tire squealing noise.  To ensure the safety of the race horses, Emerald Downs reserves the right to shut down the event at any time, and without any prior warning, if the horses become alarmed or get spooked by our activity at the site. The safety of the horses (in addition to the safety all participants) at the facility is our primary concern.

In order to mitigate this, note the following:

- Do not perform any tire burnouts, squealing, or other loud tire noises in the paddock, pits, access roads, or anywhere in the vicinity of the Emerald Downs site. If you do, you will be asked to leave the site immediately.

- The 2015 SCCA sound limit of 96db (at 50ft) will be enforced at this event in the same manner it is at SCCA events. Please refer to supplemental rule 33 of the NWR-SCCA series for a description of this rule:  http://www.nwr-scca.org/solo/Supps.htm

- Any tire squealing/sound done on-course that is deemed as excessive by the event chair or any of the event officials may be deemed "unsporstmanlike conduct" at this event, and as such, is grounds for disqualification and other sanctions. Please refer to rules 2.5.3 and 3.2.2 of the WWSCC Autoslalom Standards for more information.

We do not expect tire and/or engine noise to be an issue at this event, but we are counting on all attendees to help us with this issue. We cannot overemphasize how important your cooperation on this issue is to the success of this event and the continued use of this site, and we thank you in advance for your observance and help with this.
